The Procrastinator
“He slept beneath the moon; He basked behind the sun; He lived a life of going-to-do; And died with nothing done” - ANON - If you want to achieve your dreams and goals, you must decide that you are going to do whatever it takes to achieve your success. When you are procrastinating you are putting off what needs to be done so you can accomplish your task ahead. By doing this exercise, you will overcome procrastination and get ahead to achieve your goals.
Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
Things You’ll Need:
* Goals
* Accountability partner
* 5 things to do daily to move you closer to your goals
Step 1
Draw up a to do list the night before, do not over crowd your list, just list 5 things to do a day that will bring you closer to achieving your dreams/goals. When you are doing everything else except that which is on your list, you must regain your focus and go back to do what needs to be done for the day. Just start by doing the first thing on your list, and tick it off once completed. This will drive you to complete the rest of your tasks ahead.
Step 2
Reward yourself for taking those action steps and completing your 5 things a day. The reward does not have to be expensive, it can be to just to watch a movie the night because you did everything on your list, or buy yourself a new book that will give you more knowledge in your field of interest. The reward will spur you on to do more of your action steps on your to do list.
Step 3
Get yourself an accountability partner who you can report back to on your progress and to see that you are doing your action steps. When you hold yourself accountable to someone, you will go that extra mile and you will have the support you need to fulfill your goals.
